Planning your respite stay

Pre-stay information

What to bring, how to prepare and a checklist for families and carers.

Before you arrive

Getting ready for your stay

Medication

All medication that Cintre staff administer must have a pharmacy label. Please bring medication in its original pharmacy-labelled packaging.

If you need over-the-counter medication, contact us before your stay. Our existing guidance asks for written GP confirmation.

Meals

Your family or carers must provide meals or money for food shopping. We can support you to prepare meals, shop for food or choose a takeaway if you have money for it.

Important information

Please share any relevant support plans, communication passports, epilepsy plans, eating and drinking guidance or other professional advice. We may also ask for consent forms.

Arriving and going home

Parents and carers should tell us your drop-off and pick-up times in advance. This helps us organise staff and changeovers.

Please allow 30 minutes for drop-off. We need time to check and sign in medication, money, food, valuables and other belongings.

Sometimes one person goes home on the same day another person arrives, so confirmed times are especially helpful.

  • Clothes, toiletries and personal belongings
  • Pharmacy-labelled medication
  • Meals, ingredients or food-shopping money
